Just Chilling Out

I’m combining my last two days on Ios into a single update again to save time. Having explored all parts of the island I wanted to see, there was nothing left but relaxing and enjoying life on one of my favourite Greek islands – what a hardship!!

I had breakfast at the hotel and then hopped on the moped for the short ride back to Costa’s to return it. The rest of the morning was spent working in my room. In the afternoon, I went down to the beach for a bit of sunbathing and swimming, followed by a gym session at 5pm and a dip in the pool.

For dinner, I took the easy option and went back to Karma – it’s close to the hotel and I know the food is decent and reasonably priced. I had a spaghetti dish with chicken and bacon, plus 0.5 litres of house white wine.

Saturday 6th August 2022

With no work to do, I enjoyed a chilled day at Far Out Village lazing by the pool, reading my Kindle and listening to my favourite tunes on Spotify. I avoided an expensive lunch to save money and walked to the supermarket to buy a protein drink and some biscuits.

I contemplated skipping the gym as I felt quite fatigued from training every day since I arrived, but equally, I wasn’t sure when I would next get to train, so I talked myself around and decided to compromise by having a more relaxed workout and only stayed for 45-minutes instead of my usual hour.

I make an effort to savour my last meal on each island and return to my favourite restaurant of the trip. This time it was an easy decision to head back to Harmony Ios – the location is fantastic, the staff and live music excellent, and the food is delicious. I ordered beef tacos and chicken enchiladas but decided to avoid alcohol and just had a Sprite instead. The food was spot-on and it was a great evening.

Yet again, Ios has lived up to my expectations as a great destination and I’m still excited at the prospect of returning in the future – watch this space!
