Breakfast and Kos Town Beach
With no car to explore the island, we decided to stay local for the next couple of days, so our itinerary was fairly similar and not all that exciting to read about. We ate breakfast at the hotel, then walked down to the beach at Sunburnt Arms to sunbathe and swim.
On Tuesday, I booked a table at MamaRosa so that I could take my girlfriend there for a nice meal, having told her many times how much I loved the food. We had a great meal: arancini balls to start, then we both had the tortellini with tomato and mushrooms in a cream sauce. On the way back into the centre of town, we stopped at XL Cafe & Cocktail bar as they were advertising €5 cocktails which were reasonably cheap compared with other prices we’d seen in the area.
The cocktails were nice enough and we had a couple each, before heading across the road to a sweet shop calls Hans & Gretel. My girlfriend had seen their candy floss machine and really wanted some.

Later on, we had a walk through the old town and I tried to find a leather shop that might be able to repair my sandals that had broken yesterday. One shop seemed promising as they made their own leather shoes but sadly didn’t offer a repair service. However, they pointed us to another shop which they said would repair them but when we turned up they were closed for the day.
On Wednesday, after finishing breakfast we walked back to the shoe repair shop and they were able to mend my sandals after I left them at the shop for a couple of hours. I was pleased to get them back and glad that I’d be able to use them again once the glue had dried. We then headed back to the beach again for another day of sunbathing.
For dinner, we went to another of my favourite spots: Twin Dragon Chinese. We got a table right on the seafront and had a nice meal, then repeated our plans from yesterday and went for another cocktail at XL Cafe and more candy floss from Hans & Gretel!
