Review Rating: 5/5

Date of Visit: September 2020

It’s hard to review a hotel from a single-night stay, but it’s also hard to fault Ostria Hotel even from such a brief visit. I needed a reasonably cheap room to overnight after arriving by ferry mid-afternoon from Syros. The next day, I was moving on to Batsi with accommodation already arranged.

Check-in was fast, and they were kind enough to move me to a room adjacent to my friend, who had arrived the day before. The rooms are pretty basic, as expected for €32 per night, but quite spacious and clean.

The highlight of the accommodation has to be the pool. It’s enclosed in a lovely courtyard, offering a pleasing sense of privacy and separation from the car park and accommodation blocks. There is a small bar serving drinks and snacks, and some of the poolside has been covered in fake grass so you can relax on a sun lounger and feel like you’re in a much more pleasant environment.

Overall, Ostria Hotel and Apartments offered great value for money. It’s walkable from Gavrio in 10 minutes and has everything you need for a comfortable stay.
