Hotel Elysee, Sitia, Crete

Review Rating: 4/5

Date of Visit: July 2021

I needed a hotel room to overnight before my early ferry to Karpathos the next day. After some time exploring options on Booking.com, I settled on Hotel Elysee and was not disappointed. Just a short walk from the bus stop where I arrived from Heraklion, the hotel is right on the harbour front and has plenty of tavernas and cafes all around.

Check-in was friendly and fast and my room on the second floor was huge and had a nice balcony with a great sea view. For €45 it was a bargain, even though the included breakfast was mediocre at best.

The only downside for me is that I thought it would be closer to where my ferry departed, but it turned out that my particular boat left from the port further around the bay to the north, so it was about a 20-minute walk with my suitcase the next day. Not the hotel’s fault, of course, just unfortunate.
