Introduction
I woke up around 7:30 a.m. after a mixed night’s sleep at Mina Studios. The room was cosy and well-furnished, but there was a bright security light just inside the door that made it a bit tricky to get a proper dark rest. Still, I was excited for the day ahead, so I grabbed my stuff and headed down to the nearby bakery for breakfast.
A large chocolate croissant and a latte set me back €7.80 – not exactly a bargain, but both were good, and the croissant was flakier than I expected. Not a bad start.

Beach-Hopping by Moped (and Foot)
After breakfast, I set off on my moped for a day of beach-hopping along Mykonos’ less-developed south coast. First stop: Frangias Beach, tucked away on the southeast edge of the island. The last kilometre wasn’t rideable – the road turned into rough terrain – so I hiked the final stretch on foot. The solitude and untouched beauty of the place made it totally worth the effort.

From there, I worked my way back west, stopping at several other beaches along the route. I’ll be covering those in more detail in the vlog videos – there’s too much to capture here in just a few lines.
I paused in Ano Mera for lunch, a quiet inland village with a traditional charm. I found a spot right next to the monastery at Vergos Taverna, where I had moussaka and tzatziki – simple, hearty, and properly satisfying.

Tech Trouble and a Battery Crisis
Somewhere along the way to Super Paradise Beach, I made a questionable decision to shortcut along a storm drain, and my mic receiver took the brunt of it. It’s hopefully not permanently damaged, but it was definitely one of those “Why did I do that?” moments.

By the time I made it back to Mina Studios around 4:30, my phone battery was nearly dead. I picked up a few essentials from a nearby shop – beer, Coke Zero, some biscuits, and more water – then took a much-needed shower and a nap to reset. Sightseeing is hard work!
A Wine-Soaked Dinner to Remember
Later that evening, I walked just up the road to Nikos Gallop Taverna for dinner. The place had a laid-back vibe, but the food was spot on. I ordered a generous plate of salmon and spinach linguini, paired with half a litre of house white wine. Bliss!

I thought I was finished after that, but when I politely declined their offer of a complimentary ouzo, they brought out a 250ml carafe of wine instead! That kind of hospitality is one of the reasons I love Greece… but let’s just say I definitely felt it on the walk (stagger) home.
Back in the room, a little wobbly but happy, I spent some time working on the vlog footage from the day. Mykonos was already delivering that perfect blend of scenic adventure and unexpected charm.
