Naxos has long been one of our favourite islands in the Cyclades, so in May 2025 we returned to the island to refresh our photos, update our research, and film a brand new video guide.
After several days exploring beaches, villages, and some of the island’s best food spots, we’ve put together an updated Naxos travel video to help you plan your own trip.
You can watch the full video below or by clicking the link here: Naxos Travel Guide Video.
What We Covered in the Video
During our latest visit we revisited many of the island’s best-known highlights as well as a few places that are easy to miss if it’s your first time on Naxos.
In the video we cover:
- How to get around Naxos, including bus, taxi and vehicle rental options
- The famous Portara and sunset views over Naxos Town
- Exploring the atmospheric streets of Chora
- Some of the island’s best beaches, including Agios Prokopios and Plaka
- A few local food specialities you should try while visiting
Naxos is the largest island in the Cyclades, which means there’s plenty to see beyond the main resort areas, and the video highlights some of the places that make the island such a rewarding destination to explore.

Why We Keep Returning to Naxos
One of the reasons we return to Naxos so often is the variety the island offers. You’ll find long sandy beaches, traditional villages in the mountains, fascinating history, and some of the best local food in the Cyclades.
Even after many visits, it’s still an island where we discover something new each time.
If you’re considering visiting Naxos, the video above will give you a good overview of what to expect.
